ParticipantAs part of my treatment for my liver disease, the Dr put me on Vitamin E (1200 IU's), Vitamin D (2000 IU's) and Vitamin C (1500mg's). I've been taking these for several years and my liver enzymes have dropped and my liver condition is improving. I'm not implying that the vitamins alone are responsible for this, they are just part of the treatment regimen. Anyone else take vitamins? Any positive effect on gout? Thanks!

i think vitamin c has slightly effect on gout treatment – but generaly vitamens have no side effect-its just spplements-if u have liver problems + gout i think u should take care of ur fatty diet consumption and reduce fats in ur meals – and avoid a extreme hunger to help ur liver work better .
good luck

ParticipantZied,
Yep! I don't eat animal fats and I control my intake of fats and sugars very, very carefully. My liver enzymes are stable and have been since I started this lifestyle several years ago. No alcohol of any kind, no red meat… lots of fruit, vegetables, lentil soup, good stuff. No more kibbee nayee, though…

ParticipantI don't recall the link, but I read a study that showed that daily vit c reduced UA levels by up to .5. Not a lot of movement, but seems to have some effect. I take vit c for that reason and just general health.
